A relatively new tourist attraction for Chiang Rai is Wat Rong Seur Ten. It is better known as the Blue Temple which nicely complements the White Temple in the same province. As the nickname suggests, it is colored in blue and gold.
The Blue Temple was designed by Phuttha Kabkaew, a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the designer of the more famous White Temple. However, some say that the student has become the master. It is certainly stunning and also surprisingly free to visit. Something that temples in Bangkok could learn from.
